All-American Girl Blog Tour & Giveaway!

At the age of thirty, with two failed marriages and a tanking writing career, Samantha Moore deals with the world with the only tool she had left: anger. And she’s tired of it.
When her grandmother's near-death sends her rushing back home to Vermont, she hopes for the chance to overcome the rage ruling her life.

Once she’s home, Lance Cummings becomes a constant source of indigestion. Lance is a single father who learned first-hand the devastating effects of a damaging relationship. He sees through Samantha’s nasty temper—straight to her cry for help. He wants to help her, but he also wants to know why Samantha ran from him—and their future—twelve years before.

Taking care of her Grams, dealing with an alcoholic brother, and getting Lance to remove his annoyingly attractive nose from her business is draining on Samantha. And she’s only got three weeks to finish her stagnated novel or her publisher will drop her. No pressure. To top it off, pretending to hate the man she actually loves makes each day in Vermont harder than the last. Especially when Lance turns up the heat.

What a sweet story! I'm a definite sucker for reunited & second chance love stories! This one was just that!

Ms Dell brought a very unique twist to this story. It was so different from many other second chance love stories. I loved how messed up Samantha was and how she recognized it & began to work through her issues. Lance wasn't perfect, but he was perfect for her. He was the best kind of hero - didn't take her non-sense, but loved her through it all. The progression of the story was absolutely perfect. Things were not rushed between the pair, but it didn't drag on either. And then there were other twists and turns throughout the book - like crazy exes, personal issues, and just their past in general.

The supporting characters helped round out the story. It was fun to see the interaction between old best friends as well as new ones. Grams was fabulous in all of her old lady spunk! She was a no holds barred type of lady and added a whole new element!

Running On Empty Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Welcome to this stop on the Running On Empty Blog Tour! We are sooooo excited to have Alex and Blake here with us today! I'll just dive right in!

Welcome Alex & Blake :)

Blake. We'll start with you!

So. When did you realize that you weren't going to be able to walk away from Alex?

Pretty much the day we were born.  I mean, I know I left after high school…but there wasn’t a moment that I wasn’t thinking about her.  So, even though I wasn’t physically present, I never really left her.  Then, when I came back and she had that very mature moment in the bar, (Blake looks over at Alex.  She rolls her eyes and he chuckles under his breath) I thought at that point the Alex I knew was gone.  So, it was then that I made the decision to leave Waco, Alex, and my feelings for her behind…there was nothing for me to hang on to anymore.  But, when she came over the next morning, I caught a brief glimpse of my Alex, and vowed at that moment to stay here until I found her.  (Alex – “I never knew that.”  She reaches over and grabs Blake’s hand)

What were you thinking when Alex found out what had actually brought you back to town? Did you imagine that strong of a reaction?

I learned very early in life to never underestimate Alex’s reactions to anything. But, I knew if she found out she’d be pissed.  So, I kept putting off telling her because every day I spent with her, I could feel her opening up to me.  I know now it was not the best decision to keep it from her, but hey…it all worked out eventually.  And I got an awesome t-shirt out of it.

How about when she showed up on your door step? How about that speech & shirt?

Honestly, I was done.  I never in a million years expected to see her again.  The woman is probably the most stubborn creature on this earth, and saying I’m sorry…well, let’s just say that’s the first time and most likely the last time I’ll ever hear it.  (Alex rolls her eyes and sighs. Blake keeps looking forward but smiles.) And the shirt…it wasn’t really the shirt that got to me.  It was the vulnerability she showed in making it.  That was the Alex I had been looking for, and once I found her, I wasn’t letting her go. (Alex – “How do you do that?  You make me so mad and then just make my heart melt.  It’s really annoying.”  Blake grins at her and shakes his head. “Honey, your compliments are so sweet.”)

How long did it take you to move back to town?

Not too long.  A couple of weekend trips.  Taking all three girls on the road…well, let’s just say it definitely sped up the moving process.  Definitely.

Now that we've  put Blake in the hot seat for a few minutes, it's time for Alex's turn!

When did you realize that you couldn't let Blake leave your life again?

Looking back, I know I was pushing him away.  Just the thought of losing anyone that I loved was too much.  I felt like I was in the middle of a massive game of tug-a-war with my emotions.  One second I would want to let him in, let him be in my life, and the next I was doing something to push him away because I was scared.  But I knew the minute I pushed him too far, I made the biggest mistake of my life.  So, after he left I knew I had to do something to get him back.  I had to take a leap of faith and just put myself out there…and like Blake said…it all worked out.  And he did get an awesome t-shirt.

How are you adjusting to "needing" help?

(Alex laughs and Blake looks at me and shakes his head.) I’m getting better.  I think.  Blake? (Blake – “Ummm, no she’s not.  At all.”  Alex looks at him and shrugs her shoulders.)  “I guess I still need a little work in that department.

Are the girls loving having Blake around?

Absolutely.  Blake and the girls bonded immediately.  They adore him and I know he feels the same about each one of them.  We still do Sunday Breakfast Dates and chocolate chip pancakes.  Every Sunday.  It’s something we all look forward to.  It’s a tradition that I think we will have for the rest of our lives.

Now... these are for both of you...

Did Blake move in with you & the girls?

Alex – No, Blake got a place of his own when he moved back.  I didn’t think it would be appropriate for him to move in.  I have to set an example for my girls, and the last thing I want to deal with down the road is any of the girls coming to me and asking to move in with a guy and telling me it’s okay to do so because I did it.  No, thank you.

How is Blake adjusting to going from the single life to family life?

Alex – He really jumped right into the role. From the moment he met the girls, I think he had already adjusted.  Blake?

Blake – Yeah.  I love the girls as if they are my own.  I’m happier now being a family man than I ever was being single.  All of these girls are my life and I wouldn’t want it any other way.  I love it and I love them. (Alex smiles and sighs “I love this man.”  Blake looks at her. “Now, that’s a compliment.”)

Will there be wedding bells soon?

Alex – Plans are in the making.  The girls are beyond excited. And so is Harlow…of course.  A little too excited.  Like offering her opinion about everything excited.

How about some Blake & Alex babies?

(Blake laughs out loud.)
Alex – Ummmm, no. We’re not planning for any right now.

Blake – But you never know.  (Blake gives me a wink.)

Alex – Obviously we’re still deliberating about the possibility of a baby in the future, but right now…no.

Any new antics from the littles? Are they still terrorizing the hell out of you?

Alex – Always.  But I’m used to it. They’ve been terrorizing me for years.

Blake – They all have their little quirks. Nycole is always trying to act like she’s twenty years old. This one I’m not too happy about. Kyndall is constantly in her own world doing her own thing.  And Rylie?  (Blake sighs) Let’s just say she keeps me on my toes.  The other day I found her on top of the refrigerator.  (He shakes his head) She might be the death of me.

Is Wild & Wacky Wednesday still happening? Blake, you joining in on the fun?

Blake – Every Wednesday. There are just some traditions you don’t mess with.  That’s definitely one of them.  But Harlow usually brings Trace so it’s not that bad.  We all usually just sit around and watch the girls do what they do.  They’re very entertaining.

So. Ready for the lightening round? Both of you get to answer each one.

Favorite book/magazine:
Hot or Cold: Alex – Hot, Blake – Cold

Fast or Slow: Alex – Slow (looks over at Blake and giggles), Blake – (Smiles back at her) Slow

Winter or Summer: Alex – Summer, Blake – Winter

Favorite Color: Alex – Blue, Blake – Blue (Alex – “Copycat.  Get your own answers.”)

Top or Bottom: Alex – (Looks at Blake and giggles again) Either, Blake – With kids you don’t often get a choice...so I also have to say either.
Stay in or Go out: Alex – Stay in, Blake – Stay in.

Flirty or Dirty: Alex – Dirty! (Blake looks at her with huge eyes. Alex laughs. “I just wanted to see what you’d do.), Blake – I was gonna say flirty so keep outta trouble but I might have to change my answer. (Looks at Alex and winks) The girls are still with Harlow, right?

So there you have it, folks. Are they not freakin' adorable? I could not get enough of these two! What a fun pair they were. If I wasn't totally swooning over Blake before, I am now! I might also have a girl crush on Alex...

REVIEW: Grounded by R.K. Lilley

"James and Bianca’s story draws to a close in the explosive conclusion to the Up In The Air Trilogy.

After a short but earnest courtship, Bianca can no longer deny her feelings for James, and though she’s tried her hardest, she can’t help but see that he cares deeply for her, as well. In a completely uncharacteristic move, she has put aside her misgivings and agreed to live with the enigmatic billionaire. Is her leap of faith the beginning of something wonderful, or is it too much, too fast?

As James and Bianca feel a growing need for each other that neither can deny, circumstances beyond their control intervene, trying to tear them apart. Amidst the ever mounting threat of a monster who wants Bianca dead, and the constant pitfalls of an indiscreet past that James can’t seem to escape, can these two passionate lovers manage to find their happily ever after?"

I was really sad to have this series end, but thrilled at the same time for how it all came together. I was more sure of things in this one than the two previous but it still surprised me many times! I don't know how RK Lilley did it, but she managed to come up with even more, original and hot sex scenes! His office, wow, need I say more, and how Bee just got to stay there all day!

The things these two did to profess their love to one another was so romantic.  I loved how they cherished one another and virtually needed eachother to breathe!  The most hurtful and nerve wracking scene happened in book 3 as well. I knew that James would never lose control but it still made me nervous and my heart ached for Bianca and Stephan.
Bianca matured so much and I was really proud of her to let go of her issues and move forward. I can see how easily that could happen with James. He was really perfect!

The supporting characters, aka all of the good friends, were entertaining and interesting. They each had something cool about them and how they fit into the life that was Bianca and James. I was so glad that Bianca bonded with James' friends and enjoyed time out with the girlfriends! One of my favorite relationships was Bianca and the quirky Jackie. I chuckled everytime Bianca had to choose her own outfit and the cataloging system. And also how annoyed Jackie would get when she would see her out someplace and she hadn't followed her guidelines.

Stephan's chapters were a great addition to the book and a real glimpse into who he was. It was also a nice break from Bianca's POV. I loved that Bianca and Stephan didn't have to sacrifice or compromise their own relationship to find individual happiness.  Like James said, they were co-dependent but in a good way.  We should all be so lucky to have a friend like Stephan.

Some of my favorite lines were: "How about I make it up to you with a handful of orgasms?" "He was topping me from the bottom" and "courtesty of Control Freak Cavendish"

Of course I won't mention how the story wrapped up, but I will say that I love how Ms. Lilley gave everyone an ending!  It made me so happy.

Mr. Beautiful is Mr. Perfect in my eyes! I'm obsessed and so in love!  Thanks R.K. Lilley for a fantastic series!!!  I will definitely be reading these again!

xo, D

WOW. I don't know about you, but sequels and subsequent books in a series always make me nervous. I'm always scared that the follow-up books won't be as good as the first on, they'll lose momentum, unnecessary drama, etc. I'm always SO SCARED before they come out. There's nothing like falling in love with a book, getting excited for the next one, and then being totally let down.

Lucky for me, I had less than a week between reading In Flight and Mile High until Grounded came out. But I was so worried about it! I was totally in love with R.K. Lilley's writing and the story she had developed between James & Bianca. When Mile High ended,I thought, "well, I don't know if she can do any better than that, but hopefully it is at least comparable." And then I saw bloggers all over posting about how it was so amazing. And I got a little excited, but I was still so nervous. I've seen rave reviews before and then thought, "ehhhhh. It was alright," so I wasn't quite convinced. And then that Monday evening happened. And I told myself I would just read a little bit of it so that I could get a little taste of it and it would motivate me to get caught up on paperwork for my job. But I couldn't stop. I could.not.stop. reading. There were things to do and I just couldn't put the book down!

This story blew the others out of the water, in my opinion. James & Bianca still have their issues they had to work through. But, they've grown so much as individuals AND as a couple that they can do it. You have hope for them. There were still times when I wanted to shake the crap out of Bianca for making STUPID choices. However, there were so many times that I was cheering for her for her obvious growth as a person. I was cheering for all of her relationships. While I have enjoyed Bianca in the other books and my heart broke for her, I absolutely fell in love with her in this book. I loved the way she started to examine different aspects of her life and how she gained more courage in herself. Phenomenal.

And James. I've loved him the whole time. He was still romantic and amazing. He was still hot as crap. He was still powerful and commanding. But in this one, he was so tender. He was able to recognize that his past did not determine his future and he was able to teach that to Bianca. He was thoughtful of her reaction to things and I loved how he would tell her what his intentions were for the future and say that he understood that she needed time to adjust. It takes an amazing man to recognize how to respectfully approach the sort of issues he had to deal with in regards to Bianca. I absolutely loved that it appeared that he stopped using pain as a form of punishment and sought other avenues to help Bianca realize how her choices were impacting him. Don't get me wrong... there was definite pain inflicted ;) but I didn't feel that it was used as punishment this time. He outdoes himself on many things.

The supporting characters. AHHH! LOVED them! I loved hearing Stephan's POV a few different times. I felt like it helped get to know him a bit better and understand his perspective. I loved seeing the relationships with the pilots and flight attendants. I also enjoyed seeing how Bianca & James immersed themselves in to each other's lives and friendships. The supporting storyline was just as fabulous as the main focus.

James & Bianca's relationship has come full circle and their story is complete. I wasn't left needing more from them. What a glorious way to wrap up their story.

By far, the best book in this series. They others were amazing, but this one was stunning. Boundaries were pushed, limits were tested, but they were done in the best way possible! If I were to rate this on a 5 star system, it would be 5+ stars. 5 just isn't enough. OH! And as sad as I was to see the magnificent ending to James & Bianca's story, I was absolutely elated to see that we are going to get more books about some other characters in this series! I can't wait to learn more about the others!

Write on, R.K. Lilley!

REVIEW: Mile High by R.K. Lilley

"James and Bianca’s tumultuous story continues in the sequel to In Flight.

James has initiated Bianca into a dark and drugging world of passion and pain. He taught her about her own submissive, masochistic nature, and she fell swiftly and deeply in love with the undeniably charming and impossibly beautiful Mr. Cavendish, but a painful misunderstanding and the return of the brutally violent demon of her past have combined to overwhelm Bianca, and, confused and hurt, she pushes him away.

It’s been over a month since the shocking attack that hospitalized her, and since she told a distraught James that she needed space, but her feelings haven’t gone away. Even she knew that it was only a matter of time before he would cast his spell on her again…"

I freaking love these two! Seriously could they be any hotter? The sex scenes were jaw droppingly good and completely original. I don't think I'll ever look at a horse the same again!  (that's all I'll say about that one)
I love that this story could have easily be the same old thing, but it's fabulously different. Bianca was only slightly annoying by holding back at times, but it really didn't last long. James is a dream come true in a Dom and a partner. He provides the best of both worlds. I got the obsession that they have for each other! I wanted to please James, LOL!  I loved watching them grow both together and apart.
I also loved all the details of their clothes, how he wanted them to look alike and how he wanted to dress her. I'm so jealous of the fashion and luxury that accompanies James, Bianca is one lucky girl.

So much of the time I found myself highlighting.  I really enjoyed R.K. Lilley's writing! My favorite quote of the whole book was:
"The depravation of his physical affection affected me first, but I thought that the emotional withdrawal from him was by far more devestating. And I wouldn't have realized it, wouldn't have realized how generously he had always tended to my emotional needs, until he had set my body on fire and withdrawn from me completely. It was a revelation."

I actually had a tear in my eye a time or two about two thirds throught the book. I was glad to see Bianca starting to chip away at that wall of hers. Of course the secondary story is exciting as well.  I cannot wait to see how this all wraps up.  Fabulous!!!

xo, D

What amazing writing. Beyond just the story being told, it was the WAY it was told. R.K. Lilley has a way with words that is stunning. She could've done the same old "millionaire meets less fortunate" love story, but she took it to a whole new level. She took the typical BDSM storyline to an entirely different place, too.

Watching the mistakes Bianca made at times was so hard. You just wanted to shake her and tell her that relying on someone was ok. Not everyone was like her father. I really was pushing for her to recognize that James was more than a Dom for her. He was there for her in so many different ways. Though, watching her learn from her mistakes and grow was excellent.

James. Gah. That man. *I* was mad and devastated when he withdrew from her! I needed him to show he cared so I could stay in love with him. And throughout the story,  he did. He proved it over and over. He continued to hold her when she needed to be held and pushed her when she needed to be pushed.

As soon as I finished this one, I went on a hunt for all of the teasers I could find for the next book. I couldn't wait to see where this story was leading Bianca & James! Write on, R.K. Lilley

REVIEW: In Flight by R.K. Lilley

"When reserved flight attendant Bianca gets one look at billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish, she loses all of her hard-won composure. For a girl who can easily juggle a tray of champagne flutes at 35,000 feet in three inch heels, she finds herself shockingly weak-kneed from their first encounter. The normally unruffled Bianca can't seem to look away from his electrifying turquoise gaze. They hold a challenge, and a promise, that she finds impossible to resist, and she is a girl who is used to saying no and meaning it.

Bianca is accustomed to dealing with supermodels and movie stars in her job as a first class flight attendant, but James Cavendish puts them all to shame in the looks department. If only it were just his looks that she found so irresistible about the intimidating man, Bianca could have ignored his attentions. But what tempts her like never before is the dominant pull he seems to have over her from the moment they meet, and the promise of pleasure, and pain, that she reads in his eyes."

I can't even form a coherent thought after finishing this book!  I believe my exact quote that I sent to Em (and my friend C) was "OMG, OMG, OMG".  The whole thing was fabulous.  I was so excited to read a BDSM book, with a Dom seeking out a sub (yes, similar to another series but SO different) and they were not petulant and whiney and sullen.  They were hot and sexy and smart and strong and hot!  Did I say hot?  So we have our typical broken and damaged heroine and hero, the fabulous best friend, the nosy coworkers, you know the scene.  But what was so different, was the setting. I liked learning a little bit about the airlines, pilots and flight attendants and how much fun they have.  I love the young billionaire and all of his quirks.  He's not shy about his demands to Bianca and definitely not afraid to take what he wants and where.  And there was a lot of that.  Holy hell, some of the scenes in the airplane were smoking hot!  All along I could tell that Bee was really holding back and afraid to let go of her feelings, her emotions and revealing her past.  I thought I saw some of that chip away but I know she needs a lot of work.  The underlying story of Bianca's past was surprising and an exciting addition to the storyline.  The way the book ended had me craving more!  Hey James, I'll submit to you anytime!  um, I mean Mr. Cavendish ;)  Such a scorching hot read with a bossy yet sweet man!
xo, D

Oh.my.heavens. This one definitely made me blush! This made a certain other Dom we all know look as if he was sitting on his porch in a rocking chair because he was so relaxed. I don't know how I waited so long to read this one! I am actually glad that I waited because I was able to move through the whole series in less than a week from start to finish. I think the waiting would have KILLED me.

Bianca's history is heartbreaking. It's no wonder that she was not only hesitant to embrace Mr Cavendish, but straight up resistant to him. I absolutely ADORED Stephan and how he was supportive of her, but he pushed her. He recognized her reservations about the entire situation and was able to address her fears.

And James Cavendish. Mr. Beautiful. Whatever. He is Mr. Amazing. Could I deal with a man that is as absolutely controlling as he is? Not on God's green earth. I couldn't handle it. But he is also sweet and romantic and absolutely devoted.  But if he wants to wine and dine me, I'll take that. James Cavendish is a breed of his own.

The ending to this story was PHENOMENAL. To say I wanted more and right away is an understatement. I NEEDED more. I needed all of my reading buddies to read this at the same time because I wanted and needed to talk it all out. The whole story was absolutely amazing, but the ending took the cake!

Write on, R.K. Lilley!

REVIEW: The Submission of Alistair Ingram by Kelli Maine

Movie star Alistair Ingram strolled into Dolls & Doms private men's club in Las Vegas for his bachelor party and limped out with a torn shirt, red welts covering his chest and a broken engagement splashed all over the pages of every celebrity magazine in the country.

A session with club Dominatrix, Black Betty, will do that to a man.

With Alistair's manager breathing down his neck and Black Betty's abusive ex-husband alerted to where she's been hiding for the past ten years, there's only one thing to do:

Lie.

And get the hell out of Las Vegas.
But the real ruse is on Alistair and Black Betty, because despite both of their best efforts, they've gotten under each other's skin. Can their explicit dance of domination and submission end in anything other than disaster?

THE SUBMISSION OF ALISTAIR INGRAM is the first in a novella series from www.DollsandDoms.blogspot.com
, where erotic tales from the Dolls & Doms private men’s club are told in weekly episodes.

How have I missed this series up until now? I know I've seen it posted on Facebook, but for some reason, I still hadn't read about Dolls & Doms! What.a.shame!

Being a novella, this was a pretty quick read. There's a lot that happens in a short amount of time, for sure! I often forgot that this took place over just a few days! There was no shortage of details and it was so easy to get absolutely entranced in their story.

Bethany is one broken chick. She's had a pretty crazy life up until now. I'd love to know about her childhood since it is referenced in the story and I'd also love to know her age. Those, however, are not really NECESSARY and would be a fun little bonus. Her strength was excellent, but so was her vulnerability. You could feel her breaking down her walls throughout the story.

Alistair sounds absolutely delicious! He was one hot move star, no doubt. I loved his no-nonsense and honest personality. I really liked how he took in to consideration what Bethany needed in order to start breaking down his walls. He sounds like a fabulous guy who has had his screw ups, but has learned and grown from them.

This is a great evening read! You won't regret reading this one. It has a little bit of everything in it - a little S & M, some romance, some drama, and a bunch of hotness! Don't miss it!

REVIEW: Lost To You by A.L. Jackson

People come into our lives. Some stay, and many go. Some build us up, while most tear us down. They become our friends, our enemies, our lovers, our tormentors.
Christian Davison came into mine, and I knew I’d never be the same.
To Elizabeth Ayers, New York City had always been a dream. She’s worked her entire young life to make it here.
Groomed to one day take over his father’s law firm, attending Columbia University was Christian Davison’s only option.
Neither wanted anything more until they sat across from each other at a café table after being paired as study partners.
Christian wants her, but Elizabeth knows better than to give into their intense attraction. Yet there is little she can do to stay away.
Lost to You, the prequel to the bestselling romance, Take This Regret. A New Adult novella, recommended for readers 17+. It’s unnecessary to have read Take This Regret to enjoy Lost to You.

This novella gives a new meaning to "good things come in small packages". While this was not a long read, it was not lacking. A.L. Jackson has a true talent when it comes to words. I read Take This Regret a few months ago, so I know how things work out for Christian & Elizabeth and I still found myself on the edge of my seat for a lot of this novella!

Sweet, innocent Elizabeth. Where to start with her? When she talks about her family back home, you not only feel how much she loves them, but how much she misses them. It is obvious how their support is what drives her. Her dedication to school and her passion is excellent. I admired how she went after her goals and did whatever she needed to to succeed. My heart broke for her several times throughout the story. Between her relationship with Christian and the way his parents treated her, Elizabeth had a lot to handle.

And then there is Christian. Who is not sweet. And he is DEFINITELY not innocent. But from the minute he meets Elizabeth, he is swept away. A few times in the story, I wanted to punch him in his teeth. I wanted him to just be bold and tell her what was going on with him. I understood why he didn't, but it didn't make me any less frustrated. His parents really did a number on him, but I loved how he was able to finally take a stand.

Watching their friendship start, grow, and bloom in to something more was excellent. They got to know each other, their passions, and their goals. Both of them learning who they were independent of the other while supporting the others dreams. I.loved.it.

Definitely check out this novella! If you haven't already, read Take This Regret as well! This is a beautiful story about love reconnecting and overcoming many obstacles!

REVIEW: Nets & Lies by Katie Ashley

Always awkward in her 5’10 frame, Melanie Reeves finds her saving grace through basketball. Not only is she the varsity team captain, she’s the pride of Coach Thompson, who holds the keys to a college scholarship. Melanie has also found 'courtly' love with Will, Coach T's handsome, ball-playing son. When Melanie is on the court, everything is perfect....until she is forced to face an opponent who doesn't play by the rules.

Jordan Solano's power lies in her beauty and sex appeal. Never afraid of breaking the rules, she engages in a scandalous flirtation with the school's married basketball coach. But the flirtation quickly turns into accusation, and Coach T's job and reputation are placed in jeopardy after Jordan charges him with rape. Jordan's own reputation has the school administration unwilling to believe her. That is, until she makes a startling claim - she's not the only victim.

Suddenly, all eyes are on Melanie, and it isn't for her amazing free-throws. A man's job, a girl's reputation, and her boyfriend's entire world now rest in Melanie's hands. She has to decide: keep her secrets and protect her future, or put an end to the lies...and lose everything.

Wow. This book. I was sucked in from the very first page. I had so many emotions through the entire thing!

I LOVED Will. I loved how he seemed to be so in tune with Melanie. He didn't let her nasty mood push him away. He was mature, but realistically so. Will made decisions that a normal teenage boy would make. I loved that about him! I can't imagine living with some of the things he had lived with. He was patient, sweet, caring, and just amazing.

Melanie. Oh my heart. It absolutely broke for her. She experienced what nobody should ever experience in their life. Her reaction to the situation seemed so true to real life. I cannot imagine the grief she felt after someone she trusted ripped everything away from her. On top of that, to have the fear that nobody would believe you would be debilitating. Ms. Ashley did an amazing job portraying this character.

Then there is Jordan. I hated her in the beginning. I really, really did. But as the story developed and her character started to grow up, my walls began to crumble. Her mother really did a number on her and you start to understand why she reacts in a particular way. I kind of was thankful for her coniving ways by the end of the story. She grew up and it was beautiful. Granted, she didn't do that on her own. She had Nick. And he sure did sound yummy! And amazing. And fabulous. He recognized something in Jordan that even she failed to see. He pushed her when she needed to push and held her when she needed to be held. What a great pair with those 2!

Ms Ashley took a very difficult and painful subject and did an amazing job. I respect the fact that she wasn't flippant about any of it. According to http://www.rainn.org/ 2/3 of assaults are committed by someone known to the victim & 38% of rapists are a friend or acquaintance. This is serious stuff.

Thank you, Katie Ashley, for another amazing story. This is definitely an emotional read, but it was written very well! Read on!

Forever My Girl INTERVIEW (featuring Heidi McLaughlin, Liam, & Josie)

Alright seductresses, today we welcome Heidi McLaughlin, Liam, and Josie to our blog! They were all kind enough to stop by and hang out for a little bit. We had tons of fun chatting it up with these lovely people! If you haven’t had a chance to check out their story, we highly recommend it! Forever My Girl is a sweet story about reunited love & second chances!

D: So I'm interested in why you chose the theme of reunited love/second chances? Does this hit close to home for you? (it does for me, so i love these story lines)

Heidi: The storyline actually chose me. I saw a picture and this story just appeared. From the first moment, it was always a second chance story.

Em: Love that you said it chose you! Does that make it easier to write?

Heidi: It does because everything was there. I just had to put it down.

D: Is writing your main profession?

Heidi: I wish. Right now it's just a hobby.

D: So, if it's a hobby, when do you fit in time to write?

Heidi: At night, or on the weekends. I did just over 3400 today on a standalone that I'm working on.

D: wow! That's impressive :)

Heidi: Thanks. Not sure how I find the time at night. My daughters play basketball so each night is almost in a gym someplace.

D: What is your other job? (if you care to share)

Heidi: I work in land use, which in a nutshell, if you want to do something to your property you have to come see me
Em: When you were younger, what did you want to be? Was writing always something you were interested in?

Heidi: I've always wanted to be a writer, but thought I'd be a lawyer because I like to argue

Em: Interesting... I'm not sure I could hack it at that job. So, the liking to argue. Now I can see why Josie & Liam were so good at their "discussions"

Heidi: Haha... I may have picked a few fights with my hubs for some reactions

Em: Genius. I'm sure he definitely appreciated that

Heidi: He did after he found out what it was for!

D: lol! good hubby

Em: How many books do you anticipate in the series? I'm super excited about the next one based on the clip at the end of this book!

Heidi: Definitely 3. I'd like to do a prequel and a novella with Liam and Josie.

Em: We can never have too much of those 2
Heidi: I agree. Never too much Liam!
Em: Will Nick be moving back to town after he finishes his year out of the country? Does Noah still talk to him?

Heidi: No, Nick isn't coming back at the end of his year and he hasn't had any contact with Noah

Em: I didn't love him. I can't decide if I'm glad he won't be back or still irritated with him!

Heidi: Well, let me just say, the moment he saw Liam he just knew

Em: I'm sure... I saw that letter he wrote. I tried to see things from his POV, but I didn't like how he let his temper drive him sometimes.

Heidi: He's a man scorned. They do crazy things

Em: Outside of the Beaumont series, you have mentioned a stand-alone novel. Will that be out soon?

Heidi: er because I like to arug this point.g to prompt or redirect JH, he would argue and refuse to comply. he to the classroomI hope so. My goal was March, but not sure I'll make it.

Em: ok. I think that's all for you! ...now we're ready for Josie & Liam if they're ready

Heidi: They are!

(Heidi and D step out for a bit while I get up close & personal with Liam & Josie – who are possibly the sweetest couple I’ve seen recently!)

Em: Hi guys! Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to sit down with us! I’m sure you two are super busy with getting ready for the tour and the flower shop, so I will get right down to business! So... Liam. How did you know Noah was your son so quickly?

Liam: The moment he said he saw me kissing his mom on a DVD and said her name I looked at him, really looked and saw me staring back

Em: I'm sure that was a crazy revelation!

Liam: My heart was racing. It took everything in me not to take him from that museum.

Em: I'm sure that would've made the trip to the flower shop even more interesting.
Josie - You said you had some ideas about how you thought he figured it out. What were you thinking?

Josie: There are a few people who are town gossips. I thought Liam found out from one of them.

Em: Makes sense! I'm sure they would've loved to do that.

Josie: A few of them yes. Evil people when they have something like this hanging over your head

Em: Some people just love to get attention, no matter who it could hurt

Em: Liam. Are the ladies still eyeing you up and following you around? I'm sure they know you're tied down now, but I'm not sure that will stop some of them

Liam: They are. Most of them don't care that I'm taken. I think that encourages them more.

Em: Ah geez. Floozies.

(They responded at the same time for this one!)

Josie: We know someone like that! Liam: Or ex-managers

Em: :cough: Sam :cough:

Em: Josie. How do you not just kick the crap out of those girls? I'm pretty sure that if I had a guy looking like Liam, I wouldn't let him out of the bedroom. I mean my sight. Yes. I mean, I wouldn't let him out of my SIGHT. Or bedroom.

Josie: It's not anything new. He was like this in high school, maybe a bit more cocky now though. We are just about to go on tour, so I'm sure it will be hard, but I see the way he looks at me and looks at them and I know he sees nothing in them.

Em: :sigh: You guys are so sweet.

Josie: Easy to be sweet when you're in love

Em: Will the cat go on tour with you? And is he still adjusting well to not being in LA anymore?

Liam: The cat that hates me will not go on tour. Linda, my maid from LA, is now in Beaumont, he likes her. The cat does love Noah, so I'd say he's adjusted well.

Em: Glad to hear he hasn't had to pack his kitty bags just yet.

Liam: Oh he has his moments

Em: So... going on tour again soon? Does that mean the wedding will happen rather soon?

Josie: No, not until after the tour. Surprisingly, we aren't in a hurry

Em: :sigh: Will there be any more Liam & Josie babies?

Liam: Well... we practice a lot. You know, we have ten years to make up for and Noah wants one so we'll see.

Em: Ha! I'm sure you do. It'd be hard to resist Liam.

Josie: Oh I don't know about that. He does have his quirks

Em: He has to pack in as many quirky things as possible to make up for the lost time, too. Liam - are you gonna watch the Superbowl with Peyton?

Liam: I am. Her and I have a date in her basement. We'll watch the first half and see how things go before we decide to join the others

Em: Josie - has business picked up at the flower shop since your man has been back in your life? I'm sure people come in hoping to catch a glimpse

Josie: Business was crazy at first, but Liam Westbury and Liam Page are very different. Liam Page is around on Saturday nights when the band plays in the coffee shop

Em: Smart move!

Josie: It works well and the lines aren't crossed

Em: I loved when you told him on your date that you wanted to be with Liam Page on your date. :sigh:… So you guys ready for some “rapid fire” questions? You both have to answer them!

Em: Favorite color

Liam: Blue Josie: Blue

Em: Favorite Ice Cream

Liam: Chocolate Josie: Cookies and Creme

Em: Summer or Winter

Em: Noah wants a dog, too... I think you're going to be outvoted on this one, Josie.

Josie: Probably, these boys give these puppy dog eyes and make me cave

Em: I'm sure. Maybe just tell them they will be in charge of cleaning up the mess in the backyard.

(Heidi & D came back just as I was wrapping up with the lovebirds!)

Em: Well, I think that's everything! Thank you all for coming!

D: thanks so much!!!

Heidi: You're very welcome!
Josie & Liam: Thank you!
