Now that I've finally written my first book I wish I would have listened a long time ago. Lifeless will be released July 9th and I can't wait for you to meet Kade and Scarlett.

Excerpt

Kade captured my mouth in a hard kiss then stood up, taking off his jeans and boxers.

“Stand up, Scarlett,” he commanded as he kicked his clothes out of the way.

I looked at him with wide eyes, wondering what he was going to do. I got up from the couch and stood next to him, staring him in the eyes. The look he was giving me was pure, unadulterated lust. The butterflies in my stomach were going crazy.

“Take your clothes off then get on your knees on the edge of the couch and lean forward,” he commanded as he started stroking his length back and forth.

I just stood there and watched him. He was so beautiful. I was mesmerized by the movement of his hands. I licked my lips wanting to drop to my knees so I could please him again.

“Now, Scarlett,” he growled at me.

Not wasting another minute, I lifted the t-shirt over my head and hurriedly took off my panties, watching him stroke himself the entire time. Kicking my soaked panties out of the way, I turned and kneeled on the edge of the cushion and braced my hands on the back of the couch.

“Like this,” I asked, turning my head to look behind me.
“Spread your knees further apart.”

I did as he instructed.

“Yeah, baby, just like that,” he said roughly as he moved closer behind me.

Review

Haley Iverson is a temp seceraty at Samuel Davenport's Advertising Agency.  Haley is a quiet and shy person who hides herself in frumpy clothing and a bad dye job.  Her boss, Sam, sees through her act and is intent on finding out what is really going on with Haley.  Hiding Out has a great premise, it wasn't the typical story that I've been seeing lately.  It kept me wondering what was going on with Haley and if she would be able to stay safe.

Sam was an interesting one too!  He is running a very successful company in his early thirties and taking on a serious, tough guy attitude to help him fit the mold.  All while his play boy brother, Adam, reaps the benefits of his hard work. Somehow, I knew that wasn't really Sam though.  After a couple of awkward encounters with Haley, his walls started breaking and he felt the need to take care of her and protect her.

The build up and sexual tension between the two of them was great.  I got so excited around the midway point of the novel.  I was rooting for Sam and Haley and knew Sam would get things right.  But no, he just didn't get it, at all.  I got so frustrated with his attempts to keep Haley around under pretenses of work and his inability to share his feelings with her.  It was like watching the two most stubborn people not find happiness because neither wants to make the first move!

I ended up liking Adam a lot!  In the short time we spent with him during the novel, I saw him grow and finally got Sam to see the light.  Haley's transformation from beginning to end was impressive.  She was no longer going to be a victim and took charge mentally, physically and legally.  I really liked the ending and was happy with the story overall.  The style of changing POVs often was a little confusing at times for me.  I will be looking for more novels by Nicole Andrews Moore!

BLOG TOUR: Deleted Scene & Giveaway: Stay with Me by AC Marchman

Allie Marshall, PA student, and Dr. Donovan Callahan have overcome such intense drama in their short relationship. Dealing with thoughts of Claire, his ex who sits in jail for murdering her husband, to Allie's secret past, has been extremely stressful. From the day they met, it has been hot and heavy; both of them giving into their wants and needs. The pair have thrown caution to the wind and ...just went with their hearts. All seems well, finally, and Allie is letting go of her insecurities, which could ultimately threaten to be her downfall. That is, until someone from Donovan's past decides to make a surprise and unwelcome appearance at a wedding the couple attends. A shocking announcement is made that will force Allie to question everything about Donovan-- his honesty, his character, even his feelings for her. Will this be the final straw, or will this be a test of strength of their feelings for each other?

~*~
Deleted Scene

(This is a deleted scene from Donovan’s point of view. He and Allie are on the Callahan vineyard property, overlooking his favorite place as a child.)
When I look out on this pond, a warm feeling washes over me, thinking about the times my dad and I spent as a child. As I hold Allie in my arms, I close my eyes and remember one of those times of my childhood.

Dad ties the horses to one of the skinny trees next to the water, then sat next to me. We both dangled our feet in the cool, refreshing water. I loved times like this; hanging out with just my dad and not my stepmother. She hardly let him out of her sight, unless she was going shopping and spending his money.

“Dad, why did you marry Donna?” I asked with the innocence of a child. I was only eleven at the time and I didn’t understand why he did it.

He sighed. “Son, I wanted someone to spend my life with. When your mother…left, it was so difficult. She chose drinking over her family and it left my heart broken. I can only imagine what it did to you and Megan.” He hung his head, almost like he was ashamed. “I tried my best to raise you kids on my own, but as much joy as you both bring me, I was still lonely. I missed having a lady in my life.” He chuckled. “You probably don’t understand. Are girls still gross to you?”

“Um, yeah, girls are gross,” I said, embarrassed to tell my dad that I actually had a crush on this girl in my class.

This made him laugh. “Well, when you get older you will understand what it’s like to have someone in your life you feel you can’t do without.” He patted my shoulder. “One day, you will find the person you are supposed to be with and you will just know it when you see her.” I had a feeling he wasn’t talking about Donna, but about my mother. He never really got over her picking up and leaving our family. My feeling was right.

“Evelyn meant the world to me, Donnie. When she left, my world was turned upside down. It still is. But Donna, she helps fill the void. She’s no Evelyn, but she loves me just the same.”

“Where is Mom?” I felt myself getting teary eyed even thinking about her. As much as she hurt us, I knew somewhere deep down, she loved us. Maybe she still does. I wanted to cling to that hope that she would come back.

“I don’t know, son. I wish I did. I would ask her to come back home.” That was the first time I saw my dad cry.

Review

WOW! What a great book! When I started it, there were some things that confused me (such as her relationship with Ben), but that was such a minor blip on the map of this book. The writing was very easy to read and flowed great. Nikki Young included just enough detail to give you a picture in your head, but not so many details that it is like word vomit. From the first page, your attention is captured and remains captured until the very last page. A great debut novel!

Normally I break down a book by its characters and how they portray the story, but I don’t feel like that will work for this story. There were so many elements with the characters in this one. The story revolves around Krissy and her life and what an interesting life that is!

When I started this story, I never expected many of the twists that it took! I wanted to laugh, cry, yell, and swoon at different parts of the story. It was interesting and captivating!

If you are looking for a story that is branching out from the norm, check this one out! The style of writing is smooth and easy to read as well as being interesting!

Review

What a different and unique story! This story definitely is not like anything else that I have read recently! It gives you a fresh and pretty interesting look at the current dating scene!
I really enjoyed Annie’s interactions with those around her. Whether it was through email or text exchanges with different guys or her conversations with Alex, they were fun to read. Annie was a very lovable character right from the beginning. You could relate to her on a personal level when it comes to dating and you definitely felt for her. It was very interesting to watch her grow throughout the story.
“Love in All the Wrong Places” has some very fun, but also some very uncomfortable situations! Dating can be such a crazy experience and this book definitely captured that.
If you are looking for a fun & quirky new read, you will enjoy this one!

Interview

What made you need to tell this story?
I started using online dating services when I was about 16. I’ve had some interesting experiences – some of them great, some not so much, and some very memorable. Sometimes when I confided in my friends about these experiences, they would say things like, “Wow, you should write a book about this someday.” So while this book is fictional, some of the experiences are very real.

Which character in this story do you relate to the most?
Annie – because she definitely has a lot of pieces of me in her.

Which character would you like to meet in real life?
Uh, CASEY! Lol, I mean, any of the guys would be great – they’re all like uber-hot, but I might have to knee Gabe in the groin if I saw him, and Nate, too, for that matter. Nobody messes with my girl, Annie. ;)

What was your favorite chapter in the book?
I’d have to go with Chapter 6. It was the most fun to write because that was one of the most incredible experiences I’d ever had with an online date! The character himself is actually a mix of a few different guys I’ve met or spoken to online, but the experience itself really happened…I remember being on cloud nine for quite a while…

Who do you see playing your characters?
Well, let me show you.  Check it out!

What are 3 items your main character will not leave home without?
Gum, her cell phone, a travel size Bath and Body Works body spray (Annie carries a tiny bottle in her purse at all times)

What are 3 items YOU won't leave home without?
My cell phone, a compact mirror, breath mints

Excerpt
Cade walked up behind me and pulled my hand with the shot glass up to his mouth. He had me press it to his lips as he slammed it back. He was standing so close to me. His chest was pressed against my shoulder.
“You havin’ a party without me, hon?” I could feel his breath against my neck.
“A party just ain’t a party without Cade Walker, right?” I was trying to be funny, but my voice was shaky because he was just too close for me to think straight. He gently turned me around to face him. I felt his finger under my chin as he tilted my head up to look at him. His eyes were smoldering and this might have been the shots talking, but he was totally kissing me with those eyes.

About the Author

I grew up in a really small town in Missouri. Very similar to the fictional town I wrote about in my novel. I moved to the big city right after I graduated. I work full-time and I am mom to a beautiful little girl. I started writing in October when a group I am in had a prologue contest. I didn't win the contest, but everyone who read my prologue asked for more of my story. I decided I had to finish it and get these characters that were in my head out on paper. During the writing process it became clear that this was going to be more than one novel. It had to be a series. I have at least 2 more novels planned for the Destined Series. I also have an idea for a YA novel that stems from one of the characters in Destined to Change...hint, hint. When I was asked to write this bio I explained that I am really boring and it would be really short...so, that's about all there is to know about me. I love music and honestly couldn't have written this book without my Spotify playlist. I am kinda obsessed with frogs (not real ones) and office supplies are my downfall! I could spend my whole paycheck at the stationery store...boring, didn't I already say that? lol Also, I am slightly addicted to Facebook and Voxer. Please message me on either one...I would love to hear from all of you.
