Loved this one!

Josh and Cassie love fiercely. It's the only way they know how.

I thought Josh was mean and hurtful to Cassie when she came to Oxford but that made him real. Cassie was emotional and fighting for the most important thing in her life. I really liked that this book wasn't predictable like so many.

This was one of those books where the closer you get to the end the more you feel like there's too much left to find out and how is the author going to fit it all in. Well don't worry, there is a sequel slotted to come out this winter. I can't wait to find out what happens with Cassie and Josh.

Also joining that announcement on the last page is another announcement that 2 characters are getting their own books. I might have done and internal happy dance when I read all of that.  I love getting to know the characters like that.

About the Author

Marion’s parents are terribly disappointed with her…

They wanted her to have a serious job, providing financial stability and social standing. For years, she really tried to make them happy; she studied hard, got into top schools, graduated with honors and found a high-achieving job.

Easy to Love You picks up right after Trying Not to Love You's shocking cliffhanger ending.  While we are unsure of MacKenzie's (CC) recovery, Hunter really steps it up and takes care of his family.  He is finally accepted by all of the Cahill's, even Mason. 

 

MacKenzie has a long road ahead of her but thrives with the support of Hunter, Hailey and their families.  She is very lucky to have them.  What she doesn't know is that they are all keeping a secret from her.  They had their reasons.  I thought it was crappy of them all to do this and totally sided with CC when things came to a head.  She had the right to know just like everyone else. 

 

I felt like the story could've taken off from here, dove into this secret or had more of the 'villians' story.  Easy to Love You is mostly the story of MacKenzie and Hunter and how they deal with the trials and tribulations that life gives them.  It is nice to see how the family pulls together and makes all right with the world.  The ending was kind of abrupt, but book 2 definitely wrapped up any unanswered questions from book 1.  I think a lot of YA fans would really enjoy this series.  It's easy to relate to and more so if you are from New Jersey!

Review

When I started this novella, I really didn’t care for Jake. Based on Moving Forward, I thought that he was quite a scum bag and I just plain didn’t like him. However, reading this short story about him really changed my opinion about him. He grew on me, for sure. I came to a better understanding on why he did the things that he did.

Erica’s writing has continued to get better and better with each story she writes. She did a fabulous job getting Jake’s story told and having his voice heard! Now I cannot wait until we get to have Holden’s story!

Trent is a confident, attractive, pushy, overprotective alpha male billionaire who is used to getting what he wants when he wants it. Trent wants Sara; an independent, feisty new nurse. When Trent sets his sights on Sara he tries to control her like he does every other aspect of his life. Sara is not your typical heroine and tries to fight off Trent’s overbearing advances.

I thought Trent was the perfect combination of alpha male and sweet/thoughtful. But it takes Sara a while to break through Trent’s defenses.

I really enjoyed this book; it was one I had a hard time putting down. I am looking forward to the currently unnamed sequel as well as hopefully a couple spin offs starring Trent and Sara's friends.

Rachel rounds the breakfast bar toward Jackie and me then holds out her hand. I spot the giant rock on her finger right away and I’m instantly reminded of the two rings sitting on top of my bedside table in the dorm.

“Jake and I are getting married. I was hoping you’d be my maid of honor.”

I try not to let her see the panic I’m feeling inside. The idea of being Rachel’s maid of honor scares the shit out of me. Ninety percent of the time, Rachel is awesome, but it’s that ten percent that makes me want to run screaming out of this house.

Review

WOW. If there is a book recently that has left me with a serious book hangover, it’s this one. Right when I finished, I had to send Cassia Leo a message on Facebook telling her exactly how much I loved this story.

When I started the book I wasn’t fully Team Adam or Team Chris. I knew that I’d be happy either way, though I did have a slight preference. I’m not telling you who it was, but I will say that my preference won. But there is a HEA for each character in this book.

This was one of the BEST conclusions I’ve read in a series. You don’t wait too long for who she is going to pick. There is very little of Claire being indecisive. Throughout the book, you can really see how Claire has grown since we first met her in Relentless. There is just enough drama in the story that it keeps you interested, but I didn’t feel as if this was angst ridden. It. Was. Fabulous. Both Adam and Chris really surprised me with how *they* have each grown since we originally met them. They both love and respect Claire, but it’s evident early on that the love they each have for her, and her for them, is very different.

Though I only finished this one a little over a week ago and have a TBR list about 10 miles long, I’m thinking that I’ll be doing a re-read of the entire series very soon. Well done, Cassia. Well, done. You hit this one out of the park and really wrapped this series up beautifully.

Kate Franklin was stoked when her Father announced that he would be coaching for one of the best Prep schools in the area.  It meant a fresh start for Kate after losing her  mom to cancer and many of her 'so-called' friends.  Her brother was not so excited but vowed to keep an eye on Kate as she made friends with the most popular kids in school.  I could easily see this story as a movie.  Many teenagers would relate and identify with this story.  The Athletes and wealthy kids have so much power at this school and manipulate both peers and teachers to get ahead.  At first Kate didn't notice this much but learned the hard way.  It really wasn't who Kate was, but she loved the lifestyle: dating the star basketball player, sitting at the cool lunch table and attending the best parties.  After awhile Kate realized that this life wasn't for her.  She tried to distance herself from the group and risked losing her boyfriend.  It was at a party where Kate was nearly assaulted.  No one believed her and she realized she was all alone.  I felt so sad for Kate and was proud of her by the end.  As a young woman, she stood up for herself to both her friends and her Father.  Relationships were mended and strengthened, not just with Kate but for others as well.  Canary is a modern tale of the age old hierarchy of athletes vs. the rest of the world.  Read this if you are a Young Adult fan!
