The one with long, wavy blond hair and blue eyes
that used to sparkle?
That’s me, Violet Moore.
Do you see those men over there?
One is my husband, Rob.
A man who claimed he loved me, but proved his fist
loved me more.
The other is Tucker McCloud, my savior and
confidant.
I'm torn between what's right and my own fear.
But not anymore.
I’m taking my life back now.
I will fight back.
I will be happy.

Review
A heads up before I begin – this book
has some very serious and very intense situations. It involves abuse in many
different ways. So be forewarned.
With that said. I absolutely LOVED
this book. Once I started it, I couldn’t stop reading. It was so raw and so
real. You can tell that the author had done her research on abuse and that is
very respectable.
You could feel Violet’s pain and you
just wanted to take it from her. And Tucker, WOW. I don’t think there is a more
perfectly imperfect male in the world. Everyone wants a Tucker McCloud in their
life. These characters combined made for some very intense and very conflicting
emotions. You never want to root for an affair, but this wasn’t an ordinary
situation and you couldn’t help but cheer them on and hope for their Happily
Ever After.
This story truly covered Violet’s
journey from being the torn down & abused woman to her finding her own way.
Toni Aleo did so many things right by Violet (that I can’t tell you or I’d
spoil the whole thing for you!). There were times when I just wanted to swoop
in and save Violet myself, but it was something she had to do for herself. Her
journey through this experience is truly remarkable.
You do NOT want to miss this book. If
you are looking for a story that is going to leave you with a serious hangover
as well as feeling passionate about a cause, this is it. It was several days
(which is a long time for me) where I couldn’t start a new book because I was
still reeling from this one!

The review had me a little anxious at first. Especially about the abuse, but I love to read about how people have overcome travesties in their life and persevered.
