Review

If you have read the rest of the Beaumont Series, then you don’t want to miss this. If you haven’t read the rest of the Beaumont Series – what are you waiting for?? Stop reading this RIGHT NOW and go read them! One of the best series I’ve read! It hits in just the right spot… a little bit of rocker, a lot of romance, and amazing relationships. Ms McLaughlin knows how to write and how to suck in her readers from the very first word. Her writing is absolutely captivating. This story was no different.

It was very interesting to see Liam’s reflection on how his life was going. My heart broke for him. There were several key times when I could, literally, feel the pain in my chest as I read how broken he was. I wanted to shake Josie for not “getting” it, but reality is that she was 18 and 18 is young, selfish, and naïve. So while she still had her eyes set on one dream, she wasn’t mean spirited. She just didn’t ‘get’ it. You can’t get something that you know nothing about. So, yea. I was frustrated with Josie, but I got it. I remember being 18 and having tunnel vision. And Liam. Gosh. Seeing the means he went to try to get those around him to understand what he was feeling, his pain… gah… it was heartbreaking! What 18 year old guy HOPES he knocked up his girlfriend so that he can escape this pain? Only one that is desperate. But that desperation grew in to determination which turned in to success. And we already know how it ends. How he comes full circle. But it helped me understand Liam so much better!

I felt the pain in this book. The attention to details and raw emotion hit me in such a way that I felt both Liam’s pain & frustration. I felt as if I was living this story out and was a part of it. Bravo, Heidi McLaughlin, bravo! Thank you for another amazing story and thank you for making me understand Liam on a totally different level.
