Danielle Renton has a life, and she loves it. A recent law
school graduate, she’d been floored when her boyfriend, Nate Lewis, enlisted
during their sophomore year of college. At the time, she’d been concerned with
what that meant for them as a couple, but in the years that followed, they’d
learned to adapt to the logistics of an army relationship.

Review
Let me start off by saying that I haven’t
read anything from this author and I hadn’t read any teasers about this book,
so I had no idea what to expect. The synopsis and the cover really intrigued
me, so I decided to give it a go. I am so glad that I did. I read this story in
one day because I absolutely could not put it down. I was sneaking in reading
every chance I got that day so because I needed to know what was going to
happen. This type of love story is so very sweet. It wasn’t one that was hot,
steamy, and passionate (though you could feel the passion). It was one that was
so romantic – both in the way it began and the way it ended. It was just such
pure sweet romance with so much heartbreak and tragedy. I found that I was
crying through a lot of the book because Rebecca Brooke did such a good job of
expressing the pain in the different situations that I felt it along with the
characters. Along with that, I felt their frustration and their anger about
various things.
While there are 2 guys involved in the
story, it isn’t your typical love triangle. You fall in love with both men and
root for both of them. There were also some side characters that I am REALLY
hoping that we’ll get to know (hint hint) in their own books. There isn’t a
cliffhanger as far as Danielle is concerned, but I did wonder about a few of
the others and what was going on for them…

Rebecca Brooke grew up in the shore towns
of South Jersey. She loves to hit the beach, but always with her kindle on
hand. She is married to the most wonderful man, who puts up with all of her
craziness. Together they have two beautiful children who keep her on her toes.
