* Review *
Tracks is a Rock and Roll love story.  Dylan is about to start her first year at Harvard Law, something she has been dreaming about forever!  Her BFF takes her to see THE hottest rock star, Jeremy Mason, in concert.  Dylan (and myself) was quite surprised at the turn of events to follow.  She never imagined herself to be a groupie fan girl who swoons at the sight of a man, let alone a world famous one!  I liked how Dylan and Jeremy 'met' and their initial connection.  It was very quick and I was shocked considering the type of girl Dylan proclaimed she was.
"He tastes like cigarettes and beer, but it's a sexy taste- the thrill of the bad boy I'd never gotten to date in High School."
Of course Jeremy was persistent and totally irresistible and I loved that about him.  Dylan became naive and careless and  I was surprised at some of her behaviors, I felt like she checked her brain and morals at the door.  She took us on an emo roller coaster ride for sure!  The scenes with the fans and paparazzi were terrifying and very real.
What good rock star story doesn't come with baggage.  Dylan's is a loveless home and Jeremy's is a dark path of substance abuse and loneliness.  My heart went out to Jeremy.  It was heartbreaking to see his struggles and his desire to overcome them.  Fame and fortune did nothing to help him.  The storyline with the blue haired girl was expected but still had my jaw hanging open and sad for Dylan to discover things that way.
"I'm not going to stay and watch you waste your genius.  I'm not going to stay and watch you kill yourself."
Their ending left me with a somber feeling.  Both happy and a little sad.  I'm looking forward to reading the second book in this series.  No cliffhanger here!  You will all be glad to know :)  I was hoping for some sexier scenes but overall I was sucked in and couldn't put this book down.  Nice job, Ms. Biermann for your first book!  I think this will be a great series!
