Review
Kate has it all; a successful husband, 2 beautiful kids and a life most would love to have. One look could change her path.
Mara White hit a homerun with this one. I was intrigued by the prologue and sucked in by the story.  I could not put my kindle down once I started this book. Kate and Jaylee couldn’t be from more opposite sides of life and they have taken me on a crazy rollercoaster. I loved and hated the both throughout the book and I can’t wait to see what Kate does next in book 2.
Run out and get this one and keep an eye out for more great things to come from newcomer Mara White.

Blog Tour, Review and Giveaway: Escape the Doubt by Andrea Michelle

* SYNOPSIS *

After the unexpected death of her Dad and the haunting manner in which he died Riley Shaw built invisible walls around her heart. Barriers she created to protect her from splintering into broken pieces that couldn’t be repaired. She was unable to move forward from her past letting the guilt of her parent’s mistakes dictate her own choices.

Dean Warren was safe. Being with him was innocent and peaceful because she didn’t truly love him. His words held her captive in a false sense of security. His eyes were deceptive and his promises of never pushing her beyond what she was willing to give were broken leaving Riley Shaw in a state of regret and doubt.

Joshua Parker had the power to take what was left of Riley’s splintered pieces and ruin her completely or make her whole again. He was her best friend, her next-door neighbor - everything she wanted and settled on never having. Loving him was as easy as breathing air. The fear of losing him forever was more real to her than the feelings she couldn’t escape.

When faced with the very thing she feared the most and in the arms she thought were safe Riley finds herself questioning every decision she has made over the past two years. When she finally escapes the doubt in her head and accepts the truth in her heart is it too late?

Is taking a chance with your heart worth the escape or was it better to have never loved at all? Can forgiveness really set you free?

*Warning: This is a mature young adult novel. Recommended for readers 17+ due to underage drinking, sexual content and adult language.

*This is book one in a series however can be read as a standalone.

* REVIEW *

Escape the Doubt is a story about love and loss.  Riley and Josh have been best friends since birth, but somewhere along the way, things have "shifted".  They see each other as something else and not the little boy or girl they played with all those years next door.  However, expressing their feelings is not so easy.  They also find that there are many obstacles in their way of finding happiness.  That is, if they are meant to be.
The characters were definitely young, naive and a bit stubborn at times, but I did fall in love with them.  I couldn't blame Riley for being so guarded since she experienced so much hurt in her young 18 years.  I think by the time we see her in the next book, she will have matured and gained a lot of confidence.  Josh made me want to throw my Kindle at times.  As hot and sweet as he is, he needed to open his mouth and stand up for himself and what he wanted.  He was very frustrating but finally came around.
This Young Adult book was very well written.  I liked the alternating POV of Riley and Josh.  I enjoyed the poems and thoughts at the beginning of each chapter.  I like how it combined their love for music and song writing.  It gave a nice glimpse into their heads.  This is not my usual genre, but I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who likes young romances, drama and emotional roller coasters.  Looking forward to the next book in this series!

" Don't let the past swallow you up to where you can't live in today or see a better future.  Find the beauty behind the ugly baby, even if you have to dig deep to get to it and just let it be its own kind of beautiful."

But when his world begins to crumble around him, the pain Tristan is hiding finds its way to the surface. Will Tristan finally learn to trust again? Or will he abandon Senia when she needs him the most?

Review
Ahhh. Cassia Leo does it again. One thing I like about Cassia’s writing is that she doesn’t make us wait long for the jucieness. Just like in the rest of the Shattered Heart series, she jumps right in. Her writing is flawless. It is captivating, raw, and truly amazing.

And WOW… any reservations I had about Tristan were IMMEDIATELY distinguished. Senia was also much different behind closed doors than I expected her to be. While Senia was different than what I expected, I fell more in love with her. Tristan, on the other hand, broke my heart. He shattered me. I fell hard for him in this story.

Once I started reading this, I couldn’t stop. I made dinner with my kindle in one hand while the other mixed the food. My kids enjoyed a movie night while mommy got to read. That is how good it was. I absolutely positively cannot wait to read more about this group of characters!

Blog Tour and Review: Breaking Bedrock by Britney King

* COVER *

* SYNOPSIS *

As a married mother of three, Addison Greyer has always been known for doing the right thing. Hoping to keep it that way, she fought like hell to avoid falling for the mysterious, highly successful, albeit broken man whom the world knows as William Hartman. But what Addison didn't understand was that you can't help who you fall in love with and that it almost never happens the way you think it should.

Unfortunately for Addison, William Hartman and her desire for him continue to occupy her mind every single waking moment of the day. There's something undeniable in the way he makes her feel. From the way he looks at her to the way he so eloquently professes his love and longing via written letters, it suddenly becomes pretty clear that some rules were made to be broken.

With the two of them separated by a trial, public opinion, and a marriage that seems to be unraveling by the hour, Addison tries to keep it all together as life as she knows it is falling apart. However, as the pressure mounts, Addison soon realizes the price she'll pay to keep everyone else happy
.

In this highly anticipated sequel to Bedrock, Addison and William rekindle their torrid, sensual affair through a series of love letters. What remains to be seen is whether their love and desire for one another can sustain them as they attempt to overcome the realities of their broken pasts and build a future together.

Due to heavy subject matter, strong language, and sexual content this book is for mature audiences.

* REVIEW *

Breaking Bedrock is the sequel to Bedrock.  In Bedrock we meet Addison, Patrick and William.  It is a fast paced, action packed story and perfectly sets the scene for the much anticipated second book.

Addison is a woman who knows what she wants.  I love that she was not going to sit around and let people walk all over her.  She was very proactive and strong willed.  The relationship she had with Jessica, her best friend, was so important.  We all need a friend who will cut to the chase and set us straight.  Jessica was just that!

Patrick and his mother are two heartless and crafty people.  They both made me so angry at times, I wanted to yell!  It wasn't hard to discover who was in the wrong here.

William is domineering and sweet.  I liked that he had some internal struggles, it made him real and not perfect.  Flaws and all, Addison loved him more than she ever planned to.  I enjoyed reading their love letters to each other.  Their story also reminds us that no matter how hard you try to ignore love, it will always shine through.

I love a romance that has a mystery to it.  Breaking Bedrock kept me hooked and guessing throughout.  The combination of sexy scenes and nail biting ones were great!  I recommend this series to you if you like thrilling romances.  The stories are good and you will read them in a sitting or two!

Review
Ahhh. What a new and fresh read! I haven’t really read any ‘cowboy’ type romances, so this was a totally new read for me! I am certainly not complaining!

The insta-love story isn’t one I normally am drawn to, but there was no denying the instant spark between Wesley & Hope. Wesley is as sweet as he is dominant. The balance was absolutely fabulous! Hope’s independence was admirable, but so was her vulnerability. I felt like there were many times I could relate to her with the internal battle that she face. I also felt so bad for Wesley because there were times that he was doing everything right, but Hope just couldn’t wrap her head around things. There were also times I wanted to shake Wes because all I could think was that he was going to mess things up without realizing it!

This was a first time experience ;) for me with Ashley Johnson and I was certainly not disappointed. I’ll definitely be reading more of her stories in the future!

I’m a bundle of nerves as I step out into the night air. It’s hard to not see him. He’s leaning against his truck. His back is to me and I almost don’t think he knows I am coming until he turns around to face me. My heart drops in my chest as I look into his eyes. We say nothing for a minute. We’re taking this time to rememorize each other, this time without the loud music and bright lights of the club. His hand reaches up and brushes against my cheek. I shudder trying to control myself. I missed his touch so much. I close my eyes praying this isn’t some dream but I open them and he’s here with his hand still on my cheek. “I miss you Hope.” He whispers. I won’t cry. I’m telling myself that. I’ll kick my own ass if I cry. I won’t be weak. “I miss you too,” I whisper almost inaudibly. We go back to not speaking. I can’t believe I’m standing outside in front of him. In front of the man who completely melts my heart. “Can you forgive me?” He leans in closing his mouth over mine and takes charge blowing my mind. I kiss him fiercely. “I can’t think of you being anyone else’s but mine Hope.” He says between kisses.

Synopsis
I'm used to getting what I want. I've always taken what I wanted. No apologies. No excuses.
I know what it feels like to be betrayed, when someone else is calling all the shots. I've been down that road, and I'm not going there again. I've got my family, my friends, and the brotherhood. That's all I need.
I believe in Fate. Everything happens for a reason. But what do you do when Fate kicks you in the gut, plays a cruel joke on you?
When I met Quincy Priest, she was a flame I couldn't put out. A freakin' wildfire. She blew in to my life, burned it to the ground, then left me standing in the ashes. Gone as suddenly as she came. I'm not sure if I should love her or hate her… But I don't hate her. I could never hate her.
What do you do when the person who broke you may be the only person who can put you back together?
Can you run from Fate?
Do you even want to?
This is Brody's story.

Review
There are times when I’m simply not a fan of the same story but from a different POV. I feel like if the other POV is necessary, it should’ve been included with the original story. That’s just how it is. HOWEVER, Sydney Lane did a fabulous job with this one. It isn’t just the original story from Brody’s POV. It’s a story that happens to have the same outcome as the first story, but it is so fresh and new. Sydney Lane did a fabulous job with helping us to understand what Brody was going through during his time with Quincy and what exactly was going on in that head of his.

I really enjoyed getting to see this side of Brody. I enjoyed that the guy I always rooted for was as good deep down as I thought. The writing immediately caught and held my attention. You can see tons of growth in the author with this story, which is so refreshing! As I read this, all I could think was, “I want more!” and I cannot wait for more from this lovely lady!

Excerpt
In the dark, I quickly shed my pants and pull my shirt over my head. It’s not until I’m standing by the bed, with the moon shining through the window, that I see the outline of a slumbering angel. I can just make out the curve of her neck and the shape of her lips. It’s Quincy, and even sleeping, she is ridiculously sexy.
“Aw, hell,” I say out loud, the perfect ending to this shit day. The girl I want but can’t touch is in my bed. I just don’t have the heart, or the sense, to wake her and tell her she's in the wrong room. Instead, I pull back the blanket and crawl in behind her.
With my back to her, I lie awake for a long time. Quincy sighs in her sleep, her breathing even and soft as it whispers across her pillow. Every time she moves, my body hums with awareness. It fuels the wood I’ve been sporting all night. With no end in sight.
Fortunately, the alcohol in my system muddles my thoughts and makes it difficult to keep my eyes open. I imagine rolling over and planting myself firmly between her thighs, running my hands up her body. But the last vision I see before drifting off to sleep is her eyes, those big, brown eyes, watching me through the flames and wet with tears. What is she running from?
Quincy’s body is pressed against my back, and I can feel her breath on my neck. Arms encircle me from behind, and small hands with pink nails begin exploring my body. Across my chest, down my stomach, to the waistband of my boxer briefs. When her lips graze the back of my neck, my eyes fly open. I’m not dreaming. Little Miss Perfect is molesting me in my sleep.
“Quince, please. There is only so much I can take before I do something we’ll both regret.” Her hand stills at my waist, but she doesn’t pull away like I expect her to. Instead, she keeps her arms wrapped around me, pulling me tighter.
I began the night with the intention to get her in my bed, but not like this. She’s been drinking, and I know something upset her earlier. When I take her, I want all of her. And I want her sober.
I roll over to face her, our bodies aligned and our lips only a breath away. “I want you, Quince. But I don’t think you’re ready for this.” Her breathing quickens, and I feel her body shivering against me. When her tongue darts out, running across her bottom lip as she closes her eyes, it breaks me. “Open your eyes, Quince. I want you to see who you’re kissing. I want you to know it’s me, and I want you to see me every time you close your eyes.” Slowly, so slowly, she opens them… and I see it written there. She wants me. She wants this too.
“Are you sure about this? Because I might lose all control if I kiss you,” I whisper in her ear, breathing her in. I hold back as I savor the moment. She doesn’t answer. She doesn’t need to. Her body is doing the talking for her. She leans into me, her lips slightly parted, waiting for me to make the next move. She’s giving me the control, letting me know that she trusts me. Only I know I’m not trustworthy.
Rolling over on top of her, I press my body into hers. She may be small, but we fit together as if she were made just for me. Lying between her legs, I look into her eyes as my lips graze hers. She takes a deep breath, holding it, as if she’s gaining courage right before she jumps over the ledge.
My lips crash into hers, taking control of my mind and body. When her lips part, my tongue explores her mouth. She tastes sweet and smells like heaven. I feel the exact moment her resolve disappears, when she lets her walls down. She relaxes against me, and her tongue meets mine, igniting a fire inside of me that I’m not sure I would put out if I could.
My hands find their way to her thighs, pushing her t-shirt above her waist. I wrap my hand around her thigh and lift it up to her chest. Rolling my hips into her, I realize there are only two pieces of thin cloth separating us. A low moan in her throat vibrates across my lips as I kiss down her neck, driving me as crazy as it does her. Her hand traces soft patterns over my shoulder and down my back. My body begs for release.
When her hips drive into me, I allow my fingers to travel up her thigh to her hip, blazing a trail wherever they touch. I pull back from her, just enough to press my hand to her, between our tangled bodies. She arches her back, and her hips rise off the bed. My god, she's beautiful like this, eyes closed, riding my hand.
I don’t realize how close she is until she clenches her thighs and bucks against me. As she continues to move against my hand, I know this is what I needed. It is the only thing that’s going to stop the ache inside me.
I'm looking down, into her face, when she opens her eyes. Her face is flushed, her lips swollen, and she's so fuckin’ exquisite that she takes my breath away. I want to dive back into her, but she pulls back and turns her head, looking away.
“No, Quince. Look at me.” When she raises her eyes to me, even in the dark, I can see her insecurities hiding. “There is nothing to be embarrassed about, Quince. That is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.” I linger, staring into her eyes so she will see that I mean it. When I roll off of her, I pull her into my side. It just feels so right to lay with her like this. But deep down inside, I know I’ve crossed the line. No going back.

I selected what I wanted him to wear, and I tucked the rest away in the closet. As I was running my hands along the lapel of the blazer, I heard him exit the bathroom.

“You’re a slob,” I said flatly.

“I was just following your orders. Your text said to focus, get in the shower, and not make you late.” He came up behind me, and lowering his head, he tickled my neck with his lips. “Picking out my clothes?”

My eyes closed as he breathed seductively into my ear. His scent surrounded me. My head tilted to the side as my body reclined into his. I could feel his hard-on pressed up against me.

“Saving time and cleaning up after your sorry ass,” I said with a small whimper.

His hands traveled slowly down my arms and teased the hem of my blouse. I gasped softly at his touch, relishing the feel of him close to me.

“All things you love to do,” he whispered in my ear before he clamped his lips around my lobe and sucked gently.

I trembled at the sensation. My core clenched, and desire warmed between my legs.

“Maddy, am I under your skin?”

“Like a tick,” I breathed, fighting the urge to turn around and give in to the feelings overtaking me
