REVIEW: Rebecca's Lost Journals,Volumes1-4 by Lisa Renee Jones

If you are a fan of Lisa Renee Jones' Inside Out Trilogy then you must read the Inside Out Novellas! There are 4 e-short stories in all. You get a smart and seductive glimpse into Rebecca's mind, body and soul. The book that started it all, If I Were You is now available in store at Barnes and Noble!

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 1: The Seduction
In this first steamy e-short of excerpts from Rebecca’s Lost Journals, Rebecca reveals her first submissive experience—with the man who will become her Master."
I loved Volume 1!  The journal format is so natural and inviting to read. In this novella, Rebecca accepts her starting position at Mark Compton's art gallery. What she doesn't anticipate is what is about to be offered to her and it has nothing to do with art! Rebecca needs to decide if she has what it takes to be a submissive. She enjoyed her trial run but is unsure if she wants to sign the contract with Master. My favorite quote of The Seduction is, "The important thing is to set limits, the things you won't tolerate. Talk to him and if he won't agree to those limits then you need to consider if this is right for you. He only has control because you give it to him. Don't ever forget that." I can't wait to find out what Rebecca decides in volume 2. I'm thinking the heat is about to turn up because the sexy glimpse I got in volume 1 was hot, hot, hot!

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 2: The Contract
"In part two of Rebecca’s Lost Journals, The Contract, the relationship between Rebecca and her rich, darkly alluring man intensifies and she must decide just how deep she will go into his into his intensely erotic world."
Rebecca is gaining confidence both at the gallery and in her decision to become a sub. Rebecca's recount of her "lessons " with Master were smoking hot and a bit of a tease. I wanted much more of them! I'm still keeping a cautious eye out for Josh and want to give Rebecca a high five for her success at the Gallery and with all the male attention! Just when I think I have Master pin pointed, Lisa Renee Jones throws in a curveball and keeps me guessing.  I'm definitely connecting with Rebecca and thoroughly enjoying reading from her POV!

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 3: His Submissive
"In part three of Rebecca’s Lost Journals, His Submissive, Rebecca must decide just how far she will go for the darkly intense man who she is falling in love with. And does she dare believe that he too, will ever love her?"
Journal 3 was full of sexy scenes and lots of time spent with Rebecca and her Master.  This was my favorite journal of all and that cover, wow!  This journal revealed more about Master.  He sure can put her under his spell.  So much, that Rebecca finally feels she has some control in this arrangement and is making the right choices.  Another exciting glimpse into Rebecca's life!

Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 4: My Master
"In part four of Rebecca’s Lost Journals, My Master , it’s Rebecca turn to claim control and set the limits in her relationship."
I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster while reading Journal 4.  The tone of this one was solemn and sort of sad.  Rebecca wants more but she doesn't believe that Master does.  She feels he is using the contract against her.  Rebecca is struggling between her addiction to him but also her need for more.  I'm glad she took more time to spend with herself and writing in her journals. She needs that for her own sanity.   At the end I felt she was being too hard on "him" and I loved the few tender moments that were shared between the two.  I love how Lisa Renee Jones keeps us wanting more!  I'm still on the edge of my seat!

Connection to The Inside Out Trilogy that has recently been optioned to STARZ for TV with Suzanne Todd (Alice in Wonderland w/Johnny Depp) producing and includes exciting clues for the series readers but stands alone as it’s own exciting erotic story.

REVIEW: Bent by HB Heinzer

If there’s one thing Julia Wilson has learned in life, it’s that you can’t push your own dreams to the background for anyone. Newly divorced, Julia returns to the hometown she once swore would never see her again. Her plan is simple; enjoy the cheap rent her friend is offering and stay just long enough to develop a plan to make her own dreams come true.

It doesn't take long before Julia realizes she’s made a big mistake.

Micah Anderson came closer to breaking Julia than anyone else ever had. After promising her forever, he broke her heart the week before she left for college. Now, Julia’s back in town and he’s going to have to tell her the truth about why he left her. It’s not possible to hide a twelve year old child when you live in a town of 5,000 people.

Is following her dreams worth it if it means giving up on a second chance with her first love? Is trying to make a relationship work worth it if his past becomes a threat to her safety?

Coming from a small town, I have seen many times people promising to never return
after high school just to get sucked back in for one reason or another. Julia made a similar
promise but 13 years and a failed marriage later she came back with the hopes to grow her
own business and find herself again.

Micah made the biggest mistake of his life when he broke up with Julia before she left for
college and has regretted it ever since. Even after all this time Julia is still the one for him.
Julia coming back to town is his chance to make it all up to her and show her they belong
together. But with one set back after another, will that be possible?

I loved this book. Even when Julia thought she was falling into old habits and losing herself
again she was really discovering who she really was and who she could be if she allowed
it. Micah is loving, caring and trying his hardest to make up for the lie he told her 13 years
ago, the one that broke both of their hearts.

There were several times I wanted to yell at Julia, JUST LET IT HAPPEN! But she was scared
and too stubborn to fall into what felt comfortable. She is scared that she might not be able
to trust Micah again after she found out the real reason he broke up with her was because
he had drunkenly cheated on her and it resulted in a pregnancy. After having a mother walk
out of her life she is scared of the prospect of being a stepmom. And after Micah’s CRAZY ex
shows up and causes some chaos, Julia is left scared and looking over her shoulder waiting
for Karen to show herself again.

I found myself rooting for Julia and Micah to have a happy ending from very early on
in the book. Their chemistry was obvious and their roadblocks, aside from Karen, were
manageable and mostly caused by Julia being stubborn and too much in her own head. I
loved how attentive Micah was to Julia. Bent had a perfect ending that wrapped everything
up and at the same time made me excited for her next book to come out. I can’t wait to
read about Carly and Adam’s journey. H. B. Heinzer hit a home-run with her debut book.
{A}

When I started reading this book, I have to admit that I was hella confused. Why? Not because of the author's writing style. DEFINITELY not that because that was freakin' superb! No. It's because I was a ditz and had confused it with another book blurb I had just read. DOH. Once I got that worked out in the first few pages, I couldn't stop reading.

Right off the bat, this book grabbed me. It is so true to small town living. The town I live in is much smaller than where I grew up and I vowed to never stay here. I was leaving the day I graduated college. Now, 11 years later, I've got a family and still live in this town. So I get how Julia was feeling in her restlessness of that town. I get her need to move on. But I also get how once you stop fighting, things are so much better.

Like {A} mentioned, there were times I wanted to scream at Julia to just let things happen & to make her stop freaking herself out. What I did love though, was that the hindrances she developed were very real. It was very true to how most women think and react to a situation they are trying to avoid.

H.B. Heinzer did a wonderful job keeping this story interesting and not predictable. The ending was all wrapped up with a cute little bow and just enough to leave us ready and waiting for the follow up novel!

Author Interview: Mercy Amare & GIVEAWAY

Recently I got the awesome privilege of interviewing author Mercy Amare. Let me tell you, this chick is AWESOME! She is super sweet, down to earth, patient, and tons of fun to chat with! If you ever have the chance to interact with her, take advantage of it!

She is the author of You Got Me (which we REVIEWED) & Don't Tell. She is currently working on her next novel, Jaded.

Oh and at the end of this interview... there's a GIVEAWAY! 2 lucky folks will win e-books!
Let's get started!

{em} So. Let's get to know you first. What are some fun facts about you?

{MA} I am a musician. I play the guitar, bass, and drums. I first got into writing by writing songs. In my life I've probably wrote over 500 songs. I also write my first book when I was 14 years old, and I haven't stopped writing since.

{em} Wasn't expecting that - definitely fun!

{MA}Yeah, I've always been kind of a nerd

{em} I'm a total nerd girl, I get it! Right now - is writing your full time job?

{MA}Yes, writing is my full time job. I have a broken back, and had to quit my other job.

{em} When do you find is the best time to write?

{MA} Honestly, for me, LATE AT NIGHT. I get my best writing done from about 11 at night until about 3 or 4 in the morning... Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night (or morning) and just start writing. Those are the best times. I don't understand why.

{em} Oh wow! How long does it typically take you to write a book?

{MA} Normally, no more than 1 month to write it. But then comes editing! So normally about 2-3 months for the whole process!

{em} A lot faster than what I was expecting! So where did you come up with the idea for You Got Me?

{MA} Ideas normally just "COME" to me. Like I'll be walking, or showering, or listening to the radio, and an idea will just hit me. Roxy was the character who I thought of first. I based the story around her... a girl who's mom tried to kill her by cutting her open... And it grew from there

{em} I was FLOORED when it all came out about what had happened to her!

{MA} Yeah, I felt bad for Roxy. She had a rough life.

{em} She really did! Poor girl. But I LOOOOOOVED her new parents! Will we get more Roxy & Aiden??

{MA} YES! A sequel is coming... From Grace (Aiden's little sister) and Gary (Aiden's best friend)... It's based around the time of the wedding! I'm very excited to get started on it! Yes! I love Steve and Emily. They were exactly what Roxy needed.

{em} Oh! Gary and Grace. THAT is a little scandalous and a lot of fun! So we still have quite a few months until we get their story?

{MA} Yeah... The age difference, brother's best friend... It's a little scandalous

{em} A little scandal makes things fun, for sure.

{MA} Hmmm... I'm HOPING to finish it in June/ July. I'm going to start on it as soon as I finish my current work in progress.

{em} Any hints about what you're working on now?

{MA} I'm working on a story that I'm calling Jaded, but that title could be changed. It's about a girl rock star who seeks out a "normal life", but when she moves to this new town, all these crazy things keep happening to her and her friends... She finds out her whole life was a lie... It's really about her trying to find herself. The real her. And everything else, you just have to wait for!

{em} Well that is certainly interesting!

{MA} The book is absolutely... chaotic! I cannot wait to finish it!

{em}There is something about chaos that usually grabs me… Let’s get some “fast fire” questions!

Favorite book: That's a tough question! At the moment, I would have to say Hopeless by Colleen Hoover.
Favorite color: PINK. Always has been  Pink is happy.

Paperback or e-book? hmm... I like both for different reasons. Though I would have to go with ebooks

Flirty or Dirty: I like it to be flirty before it's dirty

Stay in or go out: Staying in, though 2 years ago I would have said going out. I think it's an age thing.

Sing or dance: SING! I have always been a singer... I love to dance, but I'm terrible at it  Plus, since I hurt my back, I can't dance anymore. BOO.

REVIEW: You Got Me by Mercy Amare

Roxy is broken
Aiden wants to fix her

No matter how hard Roxy tries to overcome her past, she can't. She writes on her arms to escape the pain, but nothing can soothe the ache that she feels.

Aiden didn't go to college to meet girls, he came to play football. Too bad that it is impossible for him to stay away from Roxy.

After meeting on the roof, they instantly feel connected, but neither of them are ready for love.

You Got Me is a story about new beginnings, and finding love when you least expect it.

**This book is recommended for mature readers due to language and sexual content**

Every once in a while you come across a book that you haven't heard tons about and you fall in love with it. You love the characters. You love the storyline. You love everything about it. You realize that there is something special about this book and you want to know why you haven't heard more about it! This book is one of those books!

I absolutely adored this book! It is definitely a secret that needs to be let out!

I instantly fell in love with Roxy. She has got a lot going on with her, but you know that underneath her tough girl persona, she is absolutely broken. I wanted to reach in there and clock her upside her head a few times so she would see just how much Aiden adored her. I LOVED her parents and her therapist. They guided her in the right direction and then let her walk on her own. They were there to catch her if she fell, but they didn't hover.

And Aiden. What an amazing guy. Seriously, he was amazing. He lived his life for his family and you could feel the bond with them. He was the college boy that so many girls dreamed of - smart, athletic, beautiful, and devoted. He wasn't looking for a girl, but couldn't resist what was placed in front of him. He loves fiercely and is incredibly loyal. It is impossible not to absolutely adore this guy!

Mercy Amare is like a little hidden treasure! She wrote a fabulous story and is even more fabulous to interact with! If you haven't checked out this book, do it RIGHT NOW!

BLOG TOUR Waiting For You by Shey Stahl

Bailey Gray is tired of her perfectly planned life. Everything about her life has been organized and lived out to the expectations set of her parents. She is the class valedictorian, has perfect grades, the perfect friends, a perfect boyfriend, basically perfect life...or so everyone thought. That's when she realizes the path planned isn't always the path chosen.
On graduation day she makes a decision. One that changes everything she thought she knew about her intended future.

On a whim, she runs away with the town rebel, Dylan Wade, in search of the unknown.
Dylan Wade isn't looking to run away from anything.
He knows what he wants as he's been waiting on it for years.
On a journey to find the unknown, they discover a friendship they once knew along the open highway and have not a care in the world. Between the yellow and white lines of the heated summer asphalt, a spark draws them together as Dylan's past and Bailey future try to ripe them apart.
Could it be that Dylan and his GTO are exactly what her perfectly planned life needs?

So, when I read a book and it references particular songs, I always find myself racing to look it up. I feel like it helps me connect with the story. I also enjoy when the author shares their playlist for the book because it helps you get inside their head and identify exactly what is going on with the characters. Waiting for You was no different except there were a LOT of music references! I loved it! Shey Stahl introduced me to some bands I wasn't familiar with as well as making me flashback to the 90's. It was amazing! So, here is the playlist for Waiting For You! I have found myself loving the wide variety of music included! After you enjoy this playlist, look below and enter the GIVEAWAY!

COVER REVEAL Lost in You by Heidi McLaughlin

Coming May 1st
Cover by Sarah Hansen ~ OkayCreations.net

Lost in You

Ryan Stone is a less than average teenager. He doesn’t have fancy clothes. He doesn’t carry around the latest smartphone and he definitely doesn’t have an MP3 player. Instead, he goes to school, does his chores and dreams of a new life away from Brookfield where he’s expected to follow in his blue collar family’s footsteps.

Hadley Carter is America’s Pop Princess. A successful recording artist living her dream with a sold-out tour and a handful of Grammy’s there isn’t much that she wants for, except love. But finding love on the road is near impossible when all she longs for are romantic dinners, a nighttime stroll on the beach and holding hands with someone who isn’t going to exploit her.

When a chance encounter introduces Ryan to Hadley, will he be like her adoring fans looking for a way in, or will it be Hadley who pursues Ryan even though it might cost her the only career she's ever known.

Lost in You is a story about following your dreams, taking risks and getting lost in love.
