Piper is fighting an uphill battle of her own. She’s working
her ass off trying to make a name for herself as a tattoo artist. Her long-term
boyfriend, Cole, was recently discharged from the Marines turning her world in
a way that she never expected. When he begins leaving for days at a time Piper
starts struggling to help him pick up the pieces. She calls the one person that
might be able to help, Blake. He becomes the friend that she needs no matter
how much it’s killing him.
What will happen when one phone call changes everything for
both of them leading them in a path that neither anticipated? Pasts will come

Review
For those that don’t know, this story is a
continuation of the Battlescars story. I wasn’t sure at first if I was going to
enjoy Blake & Piper as much as I enjoyed Jake & Aubrey, but I was
wrong! I really liked them!
This story has some very unique twists and turns
that only Sophie Monroe can perfect. There were the obvious hindrances – past loves
– as well as some unique new obstacles for their relationship. However, what I
didn’t expect is the major part that Piper’s long-time boyfriend, Cole, would
play. It really added to the intensity of the story. The other aspect that I
didn’t expect, is the part that Rowan, Blake’s ex – girlfriend, played in their
story. I really wanted to not like Rowan, but I grew to love her. Cole, well, I
never grew to love him.
Blake & Piper have quite the story and I enjoyed
reading about them. They are very unique in their backgrounds and it was
interesting to see how they would mesh their lives together. Blake was not at
all what I expected… he was so much better! I’m pretty sure that if I knew him
in real life, I’d be tripping over myself for him. Piper, I’m pretty sure that
I’d adore her, too. I spent so many minutes reading and wishing for them to
just have their HEA.
The writing in this story is smooth and keeps your
attention, for sure. It was another hit for Sophie Monroe! I can’t wait to read
more from her!
