BLOG TOUR & REVIEW: My Everything by Heidi McLaughlin

When Nick Ashford lost his friend, Mason, he didn’t realize he was going to lose his family as well, but that’s exactly what happened. Alone and in a foreign country, Nick is working on rebuilding his life one patient at a time, that is, until a striking volunteer makes her presence known.

Can Nick finish his year in Africa without risking his heart being broken again, or is he willing to start a new chapter in his life before his return to Beaumont?

(This is a novella, not a full length novel)

I'm really not sure where to even start with this one! When I finished Forever My Girl, I kind of hated Nick. I really did NOT like that guy. He did some things in that book that really made me think he was a total douchebag. I really wasn't sure that he could be redeemed. On her Facebook page, Heidi McLaughlin posted the letter that Nick left for Josie when he left town and I kind of softened to him, but I still really wasn't a fan of him at all. And then My Everything came out and he was totally redeemed.

This one was short and sweet and absolutely perfect. While Nick was heartbroken, he didn't let it hold him back. And then Aubrey is sweet and just a little bit feisty. She is his perfect match, for sure! I absolutely loved the execution of this story - it didn't NEED to be a full length novel b/c their story didn't need a lot of words. I cannot WAIT to see more of them in the upcoming novels! It'll be interesting to see the potential friendships develop throughout this series!

So, for all of you My Forever Girl lovers, GET THIS ONE! You'll be so happy that you did!

My Everything was such a sweet novella! I really loved Forever My Girl and this was a nice extension of that!

At first I was annoyed with Nick for taking the easy way out and abandoning Noah. I think it was all too much for him to deal with, especially the Liam situation. I'm glad that in his escape, he chose to volunteer and make a difference. He is a man with a really good heart and I'm glad he found love there in Africa.

"I stand there watching her and thank God every day for her. She showed me the true meaning of love and patience. Maybe I should thank Liam. If he hadn't shown up, I probably wouldn't be here today."
Once Nick came home, I liked the awkward, yet sweet scenes between him, Josie, Liam and Noah. I'm looking forward to learning more about both families and I have high hopes for Nick and Aubrey! Great series so far!!!
