* SYNOPSIS *

Marley Mason is dreading the arrival of the new business consultant. After all, this man will most likely outsource her job to China. The last thing she would expect is a case of mistaken identity, leading to false accusations of kidnapping when she attempts to pick up the wrong man at the airport, or worse…that she would have such a visceral reaction to the right man.

Rick Randy is super sexy, scandalously flirty and perfect masturbation material, but a relationship is out of the question. Rick is contracted on a temporary basis to fix Marley’s ailing company, then pull out, although as he expresses to Marley, pulling out is difficult for him, in more ways than one! Marley’s feelings range from utter confusion to intense contemplation as Rick charms his way into her life. All of those C-words Marley can control, but it’s the other C-word she fears—commitment.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Other C-Word by MK Schiller.  So many parts of the story were unique, quirky and hilarious!  Marley and Rick have all the sexual tension and roadblocks that made the buildup of their love affair that much sweeter!  I liked that MK Schiller took her time and made us fall in love with each of these characters both separately and together.  For a story with many serious topics, there were plenty of funny moments and innuendos.  Most of those times happened to be with Marley's mom and sisters.  They were so important to each other and it showed, especially during their 'dish' sessions.

I'm convinced Rick Randy is an enigma.  There really can't be a man that perfect...right?!  He did everything right and made me sigh most of the time I was reading!  Rick took chances and knew what he wanted.  Once this happened he was smooth and funny.  Cellphone gate was Rick's way of letting Marley know the ball was in her court.  (Sorry, not gonna elaborate...must read it ;) )

Some of the time, Marley broke my heart. She worried so much about everyone else and put herself last.  She really grew throughout the story and I found myself proud of her by the end.  I loved how things played out and enjoyed reading a stand alone book!  I highly recommend this book to everyone!  It's funny, romantic, heartwarming, touching and unique.  I will definitely be looking out for more from MK Schiller!

* ABOUT THE AUTHOR *

  This is my debut novel, and I’m thrilled to share it with you.  I describe myself as a hopeless romantic in a hopelessly pragmatic world. By day, I don a magic cape, calculator (sometimes an abacus), and an assortment of gel pens for my work in the world of finance. But by night, I sit by the warm glow of my computer monitor, and think of stories that will warm the heart, and cheer the soul.
There is nothing better than the intimate journey and ultimate satisfaction that only a swoon-worthy romance can provide, especially if there are a few laughs along the way.  Although writing is my passion, I am a reader first and enjoy nothing more than curling up with a good book and some tasty Italian (the food, of course!). I hope you will enjoy my work and please drop me a line. I’d love to hear from you.

* EXCERPT *

“I want to kiss you again. I don’t want to wait on that.” He barely had the car in park before he placed his hands on either side of my face and drew me close to him. His lips felt like velvety pillows. The kiss was softer, slower, but no less passionate than our first kiss. He coaxed his way into my mouth. He explored with a profound depth while he caressed my face and neck with his fingertips. He worked his way down my jawline to my neck, punctuating each progression with soft, wet kisses. He pulled away, but continued stroking my hair with his fingers, staring at me intently. The sounds of our rapid breathing permeated the air. “Don’t masturbate.” The words were the most shocking I’d ever heard.
My hand shot up and struck his face in a hasty reaction to the command. I slapped Rick. I didn’t slap him for the kiss. I loved the kiss. I smacked him for telling me not to masturbate. Surely, he wasn’t taking away my only form of relief.
He rubbed his check and I immediately felt guilty. “I can’t believe you slapped me. Are you into some S&M shit I need to know about?”
“No…sorry, but are you fucking crazy? First you tell me we have to wait until the results, then you kiss me like that and now you’re saying don’t masturbate?”
He grinned impishly and pulled me towards him again. “I won’t either. When I finally fuck you, it’ll be worth it. It will make everything so much more…epic. Do you know what I mean?”
“No,” I replied, pouting.
